Exploring Marigot (French St Marten)

Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.... out too late last night maggie?!?
Today, Don, Julia, Josh, and I decided to get out of little Cupecoy and head over to the french side of the Island! We spent the afternoon in a large city, Marigot. We went to a 1700's Fort built by the french, had lunch at a street cafe, and definitely went to a french bakery for some sweet treats ;-) Hope you enjoy the pictures
The view from fort louis was great. If over looks the ocean on one side and Marigot on the other.

If these guys were fighting the war I'd be scared :-(

Us at the top of the Fort... and it was windy. Look at our hair!

Julia and I had to aim the cannon!

The view from Fort Louis was amazing!

The center of the Market

This is a painting Josh really liked and wanted a picture of...

This was my favorite part of the market....

They had spices out in bags so you could just take the amount you wanted and they were fresh spices!

Lunch time! We went to a small Italian/seafood resturant on the street.

And for dessert....

Where else should you go except a French Bakery!

They wrap the food in this cute box like a surprise

Look at our amazing treats!

Then we had to go pick up our car. And on the way one thing that is VERY rare on St Maarten happened.... we actually got to drive almost 60 mi/hr! Don found a road with no speed bumps;-)
Then we finally got our car back...with a new bumper!!
Josh has to test our new bumper! It passes his foot inspection.

Our new bumper ;-)
