4th Of July

Our 4th of July started with a great breakfast... variety of pancakes, strawberries, and coffee!

Maggie and Anna did not feel like their breakfast was as good!

After some studying we headed to the beach for the Spouses Org Beach BBQ! Below is a picture of the sparklers provided by the Spouses Org.

And people started Arriving!

Some Parents got creative and made a beach plan pen.

We had about 20-25 families come to our Beach BBQ!

Jesse, Josh, Mike, and I went on a walk down the beach.

This little invention below is what kept the boys busy... It is called a SkimBoard. It is meant to skim across water. So you have to time it prefectly when a wave crashes then starts to pull back so there is just a layer of water over the sand, you drop the board and jump on.

It took Josh and Mike quite a few times to finally get it...

But NO FEAR Josh jumped in to save the Board!

Mike also got a few good runs down the beach!

But every good thing has to come to an end at some point!

There were times that Josh was just not happy about how it was going... he might have even cried :-(

Okay he did not cry.... But he was excited to break open the

PINATA!

Some of the kids needed some help reaching the Pinata!

The kids had to use a stick we found on the beach to break it open.

And Finally it started to fall.

And when it fell.... the kids went crazy over the candy!!!

CRAZY!

The resourceful kids found ways to get the most candy...

Ella wanted to make sure no one left any candy in the Pinata!

Ella was happy she found a lollipop!

After the Beach BBQ we went home and watched a movie. It was a great 4th of July with good food (and it was free!), good people, and SKIMBOARDING.... who could ask for more?!?
