There is one day that comes to mind. We were living in Cedar Falls, in our two bedroom apartment. The day before, I had gone shopping for prizes to give away to the girls in the sorority with the highest GPA (since I was scholarship chair). There were all types of gifts- including christmas mugs filled with hard candies- fitting because it was December. I was in the shower getting ready for the day, however before my shower I made sure to put the gifts in the spare bedroom and shut the door. If you ever the left the door open Maggie would go in and poop on Josh's stuff... even if she had just gone out to poop 5 minutes before, she always managed to save a little reserve poop in case the spare bedroom was ever left open.
But like I said I shut the door and went to shower. When I got out of the shower the door was open and one of the mugs was now empty. A mystery that will never be solved... what happened in that 15 minutes that abled Maggie and Anna (our Black Lab) to get the door open and eat ALL the candy. Now many of you that know our dogs, know when something goes wrong such as the trash tipped over, remotes chewed up, the list goes on, MAGGIE ALWAYS IS TO BLAME. Many people ask us how do you know it was her... what about Anna, she could have done it. This is how we know, after I walked in the room I looked at Anna just laying on the floor by the door. Next to her is Maggie, standing like she knew she forgot to hide some of the evidence but she could not remember what??? And there it was, she turns her head... and on the side of her face, located right below her eye was a.... half chewed up hard candy stuck right on her face!!
You may be asking yourself what does this have to do with anything in St Maarten. This is why.....
